Parking in Oakland

Several parking options are available in the Oakland area:

STREET PARKING – Usually available near Bellefield Towers (Bellefield Ave., Fifth Ave., Ruskin Ave., etc.

Hours: Monday – Saturday 8:00 am-6:00 pm

Rate: $2.00/hr or $0.25/15 min (4 hours max)

Payment Options: Cash (coins only) or credit/debit card

Directions: At the electronic meters, you will need to type in your license plate number and then insert coins or swipe your card. You will add value to increase your parking time for up to 4 hours. The meter will give you an expiration time. You can have a receipt printed with this time too.

SOLDIERS AND SAILORS GARAGE– On Bigelow Boulevard between Fifth Avenue and O’Hara Street

Hours: Monday – Friday: 6:00am-12:00am; Saturday – Sunday: 8:00am-12:00am

Payment Options: Cash only

Directions: Retrieve a ticket before going through the lift gate. Take the ticket with you when you leave the garage. Show your ticket and pay at the front desk (on the left when you walk in) before returning to your car. You’ll insert this ticket on the way out for the gate to lift.

RUSKIN HALL LOT– Metered lot directly across the street from the entrance to Bellefield Towers

Hours: Monday – Saturday 8:00 am-6:00 pm

Rate: $0.25/15 minutes (1 hour max)

Payment Options: Cash (coins) only

Directions: Beware of the shorter time limit. The meters in this lot are the older coin deposit format.

FIFTH AND CRAIG ST. GARAGE – 4596 Fifth Ave – Across from St. Paul’s Cathedral

Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30 am-9:00 pm; Saturday 8:00 am-2:00 pm

Payment Options: Cash only

Directions: Push blue button at the gate to get a ticket. Parking is all valet (no additional cost). Attendant will give you a parking ticket to retrieve your car when you return. Pay when you leave.
